About recovered carbon black
A carbon-rich black material recovered from end-of-life tyres
and refined for use as a filler and pigment. It is a recycled alternative to virgin
carbon black, which is made from fossil feedstock.
Virgin carbon black is made by burning oil or gas under
controlled conditions. rCB is recovered from tyres that already contain carbon
black, so it reuses material instead of making new. It also contains some ash from
the original tyre compound, which is why grade selection matters.
End-of-life tyres are shredded, the steel is removed, and the
rubber is processed in a controlled, enclosed system that separates a carbon-rich
solid from an oil fraction. The solid is then milled and refined into rCB.
Rubber products, tyres and retreading, plastics and
masterbatch, pipes and hoses, and paints, coatings and inks.
Not always. Many rubber and plastics compounds can use rCB for
part or all of their carbon black. Highly specialised or safety-critical
formulations may need a blend or stay with virgin grades.

Performance & processing
In many applications it performs close to the virgin grade it
replaces, especially in non-critical rubber goods and black masterbatch. The right
loading is confirmed through trials on your compound.
rCB runs on the same mixing and processing equipment. Some
compounds need small recipe adjustments, which we help you work out during trials.
Yes. Blending is a common way to start, and lets you balance
cost, performance and recycled content.
Finely milled grades give a deep black suitable for many
rubber, plastics and coating applications. Jetness can be checked with a simple
drawdown or plaque comparison.
rCB is supplied in powder and pelletised forms, with fineness
matched to the application. Ask us for the grade that suits your process.

Quality & compliance
Tyres are sorted before processing, each stage runs to set
parameters, and recovered materials are tested before dispatch. Each lot can be
supplied with its own test data.
Typical parameters include iodine adsorption, oil absorption
(DBP), ash, moisture, pH and sieve residue. Additional tests can be arranged through
accredited laboratories on request.
Yes. Technical data sheets, safety data sheets and lot test
reports are shared with buyers on request.
Yes. If your specification needs a particular test, tell us and
we will arrange it.
When stored dry, cool and in its original packaging, rCB keeps
its properties in the same way as virgin carbon black.

Sustainability & regulation
It keeps tyres out of stockpiles, landfill and open burning,
and reduces the need to make new carbon black from fossil feedstock.
Using recovered material adds recycled content to your products
and supports circular-economy commitments in your sustainability reporting.
Yes. Using rCB does not change how a product can be recycled at
the end of its life.
Rules on tyre waste and extended producer responsibility in
India and other markets are increasing demand for recovered materials. Check the
requirements that apply to your products.
We will publish figures such as tonnes processed once they are
measured and verified.
